12 Fashion Trends For 2019

7th February 201918th March 2019

Hi lovelies, today we’re talking about the 12 fashion trends for 2019, so get ready to get your fashion fix here.

I hope you’ve all enjoyed a great start to the week and are no doubt, looking forward to the weekend ahead. Whether that’s having some time for yourself, running errands, working out, spending time with family or shopping.

If shopping is on your agenda, then you’ve come to the right place. Perhaps you’ve already done a bit of window shopping, then I hope you’ll find these next tips really helpful when choosing items of clothing to invest in for 2019. Especially if your wishing to try something new or different or just stay upto date with the new trends. Altogether I think there are 12 worth mentioning as some of the larger trends we will see but this is not an exhaustive list I’m sure.

The 2019 Colour Palette

1. Coral “Living Colour”

2. Pressed Rose/ Dusty Rose

3. Terranium Moss/Earth Green

4. Toffee Brown

This years’ new colours are a throwback to a vintage romantic style, muted tones and the pop of colour we’ll be seeing a lot of is coral. I actually really love this trend and am super excited that this is coming back in. I have recently started a whole new wardrobe after deciding I had a lot of clothes but nothing to wear and now I am building a wardrobe around this exact scheme of colours. Early tones and neutral colours are so flattering on everyone, there’s still a spectrum of shades to choose from depending on your skin tone. It’s a really stylish and sophisticated palette to dabble in and very much on trend.

The New Piece Addition

5. The Slip Dress/Slip Skirt

This trend is huge. The slip dress/slip skirt is everywhere. Such a lovely silhouette again, a very romantic style to wear and very flattering depending on the fit and colour. I think this can also be a very sexy style to try and can definitely see this making an appearance for the evening to nights out. Think after work dinners with a slip skirt, knitted jumper and western style boots. Style a slip dress similarly with heels and a leather jacket and you’ve got an evening look to go. If I haven’t already mentioned before, I am a huge fan of the one-piece, by that I mean dresses so yes, this is a trend I will definitely be investing in.

The New Style Addition

6. Tye Dye

7. Crotchet Style

8. Fine Print trend shirt trend/Scarf trend

9. The Western trend – western style boots especially

Taking it from the top, The Tye Dye Look and crochet is making a come back too. I think this may be something people dabble in around the spring summer time as it says very much festival vibes and I can see how this could be a really fun trend to try. If you’re asking if this is a trend that will stand the test of time, I’d say probably not, but it would be fun to try if you have an adventurous side. Personally, I’m reserving my opinion on this. I’m not the hugest fan of Tye Dye anything or crochet, it just feels like you’ve bought something that already has holes in it. It doesn’t keep you warm and I don’t find it really keeps you cool either if it’s a really hot day, but let’s see.

Add in some fine print detailed items to your wardrobe for a classic touch update. Try a fine print scarf or top for a very chic feminine look.

And if you’re not aware of the western boot trend already from earlier this Winter, it’s definitely worth checking out. So many styles and the block heel makes this shape very comfortable and wearable for all day use. Go for a pointed toe style to elongate the legs and keep that sophisticated style. Go for the western style in an animal print for a roc-n-roll edge vibe with a chunky knitted jumper.

The New Shape/Detail Addition

10. Rouching details

The details are everything. This year pay attention to the styles of clothing you buy. It can be the same colour as the usual things you buy but that little cuff detail or shoulder detail of the gathered look can really bring you up to date super quickly this year, and again gives a really nice well put together feminine and chic look.

Hair Accessories

11. Bows

12. The Headband/ Hair Slides

Last but not least, Kate Middleton wore some fantastic headbands over the Christmas period matched with her fabulous coats and looked incredible. It’s no wonder the headband is making a return in a huge way. It can be quite glamorous or quite fun depending on your personal style but either way, we’ll be seeing a lot more of it.

For all of these trends, I think there are some fantastic options out in the high street stores already if you’ve not had a chance to get around them, Topshop and Zara have some really amazing pieces in at the moment as well as H&M, who also has a great accessories selection! I hope you found this useful everyone. If you haven’t already please subscribe to my YouTube channel – Styled by Elizabeth.
