Ok I know I’ve only been going for a year. But within this time, I’ve actually gone through so many changes, both personally and creatively. So I thought, what better way to reflect this growth, than with a blog makeover.
Amongst pondering over several renaming suggestions. Changes in blog direction and some technical difficulties (coughs*), I finally feel more comfortable and excited about my vision for the future going forward.
I think change is natural and understandable. As I’ve grown, I’ve learned new things, my tastes and styles have changed too.
Here of some of the things I was considering when I decided my blog needed a makeover…
Does my blog represent me?
Does it look like welcoming?
Is my content valuable?
Let’s look at these a little closer. Does your blog represent you? Ultimately your blog is a reflection of you. If you don’t feel it’s representing that well, thats fine. We grow and we change. Your blog can do that too.
Is it welcoming? My blog did not look very welcoming. Due to the technical difficulties I was having with my last blog, I reverted back to a really simple blog theme. I found it a bit bland and uninspiring. So although I continued to blog and learn more about blogging. I was not as enthusiastic as I wanted to be.
Is your content valuable? This is by far the hardest bit. But now I look back, I guess I could have come to this a little sooner. I enjoy a wide variety of things but actually, the things that I spend my time looking up and researching is skincare, fitness, and fashion. Combining what you enjoy with what your good at, is the best place to start. For me, I love writing and I love skincare so this is where I focus my attention, and where I aim to produce interesting and valuable content 🙂
I’m so excited to finally be able to have this new edition of my blog go live. I’ve decided to change the name to personalise it and give me the space and room to be able to talk freely about beauty, skincare, fashion. A bit of life advice and all that good stuff. I hope you enjoy this new look site and the content going forward. As always, I’m so grateful for time.
Here are some sites and links to places I first went to when I was initially starting out blogging and just learning the ropes. I hope you find them useful. WordPress, Square Space, Stock Photos, Yeost SEO.
Much love x
